Dear Falkirk Council,

I would like you to provide stats on the average wait times for an Adult Social Work needs assessment over the last 3 years. If possible please break it down by month. If the above breaches the maximum aloud to spend (Section 12 of the FOIA) on a request please prioritise the last year.

I expect a response within 20 working Days.

Yours faithfully,

Euan McCutcheon

FOI, Falkirk Council

Dear Falkirk Council,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Falkirk Council's handling of my FOI request 'Average wait times for Adult Social Work Needs Assessments'.

Although I received my data I would like a review into why it took so long to answer my request.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/a...

Yours faithfully,

Dear Mr McCutcheon,

I write further to your request received on 7^th November 2018 requesting
an internal review of our handling of your FOI request ‘Average Wait Times
for Adult Social Work Needs Assessments.’  As you have noted you had
received your data shortly before submitting your request for the internal
review.    I have reviewed the web page on whatdotheyknow.com and am aware
that the information we provided is now posted online.

May I first apologise for the delay which has arisen in providing you the
present response.  This delay has arisen due to workload demands and
prioritisation requirements.  I give you my assurance that my Service
takes every step possible to avoid and minimise the impact of such delay.

Your Internal Review request concerned the delay in providing your
information. Your information was due to be submitted to you on 3^rd
September and was sent to you on 5^th November which I fully accept is an
unacceptable delay.  I have noted that the Service Manager who replied to
your request offered her apology for that delay in the letter providing
the information.  I have now had the opportunity to review the reasons why
my Service was unfortunately not in a position to provide you with your
information within the timescale,  as we would very much have wanted to
do.   The request involved coordination across different parts of the
service. Your request  was allocated and picked up in good time, however
the gathering of the necessary data was adversely affected due to workload
pressures.  You may be interested to know that Falkirk Council are
currently investing in replacement of our service user information
system.  This  will mean that in future [from end of 2019] information
will be more readily accessible,  collection less labour intensive and
response times thereby improved.

I trust that the above information is helpful and I am happy to discuss
further as necessary.

Kind Regards,

Joe McElholm
