London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust.

I am now in a position to respond to your noted questions/query as
follows;

·         I would like to know the average (mean, median & SD) financial
cost of treating a "standard" COVID-19 patient (a) in a general bed/ward
and (b) in critical care.

a)      in a general bed/ward

£10,704 per spell (*all of those COVID-19 patients not in ITU)

b)      in critical care

£20,682 per spell (*All of those patient in ITU)

*Please note that cost represents all of those patients seen in the first
wave of the pandemic (*April - June 2020)  Costs for the second wave not
yet available but may be higher due to longer lengths of stay and
different drug regimes.

*As noted as part of the Trust’s acknowledgement email, staff are
currently responding to urgent operational issues in dealing with Public
Health priorities, and therefore any further information you may require
to that provided, as above, may be subject to delay at this time.
