Average Salary & Allowances of Tier 2 ICT's in London for January 2011

The request was successful.

Dear UK Border Agency,

The UKBA has the concept of a ‘salary package’ which consists of a base salary plus allowances.

I am interested in the average salary and the average allowances by job title, with SOC 2131 or SOC 2132, from the tier 2 ICT "used CoS". Where the sponsor work address is in inner London for January 2011 (and February if the data is available when you process this request), grouped by country.

Yours faithfully,

Peter Kellard

Employment, Freedom of Information,

Dear Ms Walker,

Thankyou for your reply. However, you have not broken the data down by job title just SOC. Can you include the breakdown by job title as well?

Yours sincerely,

Peter Kellard

Dear Ms Walker,

Thank you for your reply. I noticed that some of the figures seem a little odd. For example in the Average Allowances By Nationality and Job Title - SOC Code 2131 Feb 11 - COS Used, for Senior Consultants from India the average is £355,560 which does seem a little high. It almost seems that the figures have been summed rather than averaged.

Yours sincerely,

Peter Kellard

Employment, Freedom of Information,

Dear Mr Kellard

Thank you for your email of 24 March.

I can confirm that the information we provided on salary figures have been based on total salaries divided by the number of migrants under each job title and nationality. Allowances have been worked out in the same manner but divided by the number of migrants who have confirmed allowances under each job title and nationality.

The figures quoted are not provided under National Statistics protocols and have been derived from local management information and are therefore provisional and subject to change. Figures are rounded to nearest 5.

I hope this is of help to you.

Kind Regards

Daniela Walker
