Average individual total Length of stay after admission via A&E (combine subsequent ward stays)

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust,
There have recently been concerns raised about patients being sent home too early
and having to come back in (heard at an Overview and Scrutiny meeting) . Now some patients are complaining of having to undergo endles assessments and overly long stays which appears to be over compensating for this. It is important information because infections on wards are deemed externally caused unless developed 2 days after the patient is on the ward but a quick return might mask the fact that the the infection was actually incubating on the ward initially. Conversely longer stays put the patient at risk of hospital infections and falls which might be attributed to the hospital To try and unwrap this can we have:
the mean average stay for A&E admissions with at least 12 comparitors (eg could be 3 years of quarterly or 1 year's monthly for patients over 50 in not more than 10 year age groupings
+- 2 standard deviations to allow for outliers. To clarify, the average total time per person within the hospital is what is being requested as well as the number of patients in each time group . Further breakdown of admission types is not required but might aid understanding if felt useful.

Alternatively the modal average could be given for each category as above
Yours faithfully,
A.Pickersgill
