Could you please provide me with this information?
1. How many students are registered at schools in the authority. Please provide information based on total primary and total secondary cohort.
2. How many students in total have a confirmed Autistic Spectrum Disorder diagnosis? Please provide a information based in primary and secondary cohorts.
3. Please describe the nature of provision for these students. I am interested in knowing if they are taught in their mainstream school, in resource bases / units in schools, a pupil referral unit or other forms of provision.
4. Does the authority provide a home tuition service?
5. If so, how many students are currently registered with the service?
6. How many students were registered with the service in 2016-7?

Under the freedom of information act 2000 I kindly request that you please
provide me with the following information:
1. How many students are registered at schools in the authority. Please
provide information based on total primary and total secondary cohort.
Primary - 15262 pupils
Secondary - 10176 pupils
2. How many students in total have a confirmed Autistic Spectrum Disorder
diagnosis? Please provide a information based in primary and secondary
cohorts.
35 Primary,
68 Secondary
3. Please describe the nature of provision for these students. I am
interested in knowing if they are taught in their mainstream school, in
resource bases / units in schools, a pupil referral unit or other forms of
provision.
Pupils with ASD are taught in a variety of settings including mainstream
school, Generic and ASD specific learning resource bases (in primary and
secondary respectively), an ASD specific school (Ysgol Bryn Derw) and Maes
Ebbw School (Special School). In addition, some pupils are educated
outside of Newport at both other LA and Independent schools where their
needs are such that they cannot be met within Newport provision and / or
where there was a lack of capacity at the time of placement.
4. Does the authority provide a home tuition service?
Yes, Newport City Council has a Home Tuition Service
5. If so, how many students are currently registered with the service?
As of 28.11.2017 - 20 pupils
6. How many students were registered with the service in 2016-17?
50 pupils
