Our reference: FOI 19/25

Dear Mr Twining,

Thank you for your email of 13 November 2019 in which you asked:

Please could you provide the following information to me?

1) Number of employees working for the Royal Parks

2) Number of employees declaring a disability

3) Number of employees declaring Autism Spectrum Disorder conditions such
as Asperger's

At present, The Royal Parks Charity employs 157 staff.

I can confirm we do hold information on the number of employees declaring
a disability. However, we consider that this information would be exempt
from disclosure under section 40(2) of the FOI Act, which relates to
personal information.

This information is considered a special category of personal data under
the Data Protection Act 2018. Due to the low numbers of individuals we
employ here declaring a disability, this information could be considered
as personally identifiable. Releasing this information would be a
contravention of principle 1 a) of article 5 of the General Data
Protection Regulation (GDPR) as we do not have a lawful basis from article
9 to allow this processing (disclosure). It would also be a contravention
of principle 1 b) as we collected this information for the purposes of
employment and disclosing this to a member of the public would be a
separate purpose, incompatible with the first.

I hope that this information satisfies your request.

If you are dissatisfied with the handling of your request, you have the
right to ask for an internal review. Internal review requests should be

addressed to:
