Dear National Audit Office,
Under Freedom of Information, could you please tell me if you are responsible for auditing the Office of the Surveillance Commissioners?
If so are the results of this audit available to the public.
Dear Mr Willis,
Thank you for your email of 28 ^ February, in which you enquired about
auditing arrangements for the Office of Surveillance Commissioners (OSC).
We have not dealt with your enquiry under Freedom of Information, but hope
you find the following response helpful.
OSC is a Tribunal NDPB (Non-Departmental Public Body) of the Home Office
and it does not prepare its own accounts. Its expenditure forms part of
the Home Office's expenditure and is within the Home Office's Accounts,
but it is not disclosed separately. The National Audit Office (NAO) does
audit the Home Office but the OSC expenditure is only in the region of £1m
and the NAO does not specifically look at it as part of its audit of the
Home Office. We therefore hold no information.
The Home Office’s accounts are publicly available at:
- but as stated above, there is no separate disclosure of the OSC
