It seems that Atos are a law unto themselves and trying to actually trace doctors 'I us the word doctors lightly' is nigh on impossible.
They refer you to different departments or are totally unresponsive to any questions that they find it difficult to answer.
It seems the whole set up controlled by the DWP and is unaccountable to anyone even members of parliament.
The neglect to fact and false reporting I have encounter with both a doctor employed by Atos and the DWP's so called professionals is unbelievable.

They cannot provide information on what HCP's are paid, because it is ATOS who pays them. This is a relationship between ATOS as the employer, and HCP's as employees. ATOS is a large company, who deal with far more than benefit assessment.
They are confirming that HCP's do not receive a bonus FROM THE DWP where benefit has been disallowed.
ATOS would not be able to pay them a bonus on disallowed benefit because this would involve the DWP letting them know the benefit outcome for each case, which is not something that DWP do.

A doctor came to my house who used to be my GP 5 years previous he was a nightmare as a GP so I knew what to expect but he was like a different man very nice and friendly but when the report came back he had just wrote down anything he felt like the complete opposite to what I said and guess what I was turned down best of all he even lied about being a GP at my practice I am not surprised he left there with a dark cloud above him so he is in a job that suits him now being nasty to people my husband always said that was who he should work for.

i have osteoporosis and suffer from clinical depression,am 56 yrs. old.i have worked all my life, raised 3 children.after being made redundant for the second time i was feeling very low,and in considerable pain,my doc. signed me off from job seekers allowance,so i got esa,for a short time, then the 'back to work' interviews began,no matter i was ill,i had to attend,or did i?i had to have a 'medical assesment.' if that's what it could be called.she's fit for work came the reply.so basically my doctor went to uni. for years to train as a doc. to be told her diagnosis is wrong!!!(and my psychiatrists.) same thing is now happening to my husband'he worked for 40 yrs. being made redundant last yr. and receiving jsa.. he now has pneumonia,DIAGNOSED BY X-RAYS AND 3 DIFFERENT DOCS.so has to claim esa. now he has to fill in a 27 page medical form, and 'may' have to attend a medical!! with ATOS......CAN ANYONE TELL ME ,DOES HE HAVE TO ATTEND THIS MEDICAL? IN FACT DOES HE HAVE TO FILL IN THIS FORM?

The Coalition Government have awarded a private sector company a contract for A THIRD OF A BILLION POUNDS despite this private sector company already having a 70% failure rate and people they assessed fit for work dying while waiting their appeal against Atos Healthcare’s assessment. One appeal was upheld posthumously!
It was reported The Herald1, at least 2 people have died after being assessed fit for work by Atos Healthcare.
Atos Origin announced on 16th November it had been awarded a contract for nearly A THIRD OF A BILLION POUNDS to “support the UK government’s welfare reform agenda”, when their failure rate is at least 70%.2
Atos Healthcare claimed two people were fit for work, yet they “died from the conditions which caused them to claim Incapacity Benefit (IB) while waiting for appeals to be heard against cuts to their benefits”.
The Herald story stated
“Danny McCafferty, chair of the Independent Resource Centre in Clydebank wins 70% of the cases it takes to appeal against Atos recommendations people are fit for work.
With a backlog of cases waiting for appeal dates, Mr McCafferty expects the success rate of the Clydebank resource centre (which is part-funded by Oxfam) to increase well beyond 70%.
“Atos Healthcare is not producing the results it is paid for because so many decisions are being overturned. It is costing the country money to go through the appeals process.” 1
So the coalition decides it’s good use of tax payers money to pay a private sector organisation a third of a billion pounds for a 70% failure rate and claimants have to rely on Oxfam funds to get their benefits reinstated because they were wrongly taken away – unless they die beforehand!

I was diagnosed with Clinical Depression almost 20 yrs ago and never made a full recovery , I still suffer Anxiety & Depression, with severe Panic attacks.infact I am still on anti-depressants to this day, Anti- depressants do help with depression and from personal experience there seems to be no absolute cure! they are and to quote "Charles Linden" very limited in treating anxiety yet still the Medical profession prescribe them like sweeties for a variety of other illnesses apart from depression . My GP respects and supports me for trying alternative Self Help Methods. I recently attended my 4th medical assessment with added health problems taking along more medication , I was a "few" points short this time and so my benefit ceased, I had very liitle help from JobcentrePlus when I initially contacted them and was treated like muck on her shoe when I spoke to one female (so called) adviser, I demanded a copy of the Doctors report, I have the factual evidence now ,and lo and behold there is some very serious inaccuracies contained within and also some very unfair remarks ,also apparent is how the Doctor at the assessment words their report which thereby influences/ directs the Decision Makers on how to score each of the work capability functions for each claiment. How can one doctor in a 30 minute assessment state in prognosis I could return to work within a few months thereby denying me a justifiable benefit? That was stopped, ceased, ended, days before I was informed, What a Shambles The D W P has become !
The E S A descriptors showing how points can or should be awarded is very ambiguous in most of the physical & mental functionality descriptions. The whole ESA programme should be scrapped its just plain NONSENSE ABSOLUTE !!, along with AtosHealthcare and in particular the Doctor who assessd me for 30 minutes.but then is there any plain simple common sense in any Government Departments these days, I have appealed for sure and will take this to the highest of all levels, I will need and seek legal advise in order to claim what I know is my entitlement . Glad I found this page I will update, and for those treated like S * * t by the DWP and or AtosHealth "" C A R E "" ? fight on its your right.

I have just received a letter informing me my ESA has been stopped because i failed the medical. I had a heart attack in June this year, my heart was found to be healthy but the attack had been caused by migraine tablets which I have been taking for over 12 years! I was told I have aqquired Long QT and have 6 pages of medication i can no longer take including migraine pills! the only thing i can take for this is paracatamol and ibruprofen! these do not touch a migraine. I have a at least 2 a week lasting up to 3 days, yet Atos have found me fit to work. I am awaiting an appoinment at a migraine clinic meanwhile have to suffer. How can someone who asked me questions like " did you have anyone at the door for halloween?" "is your house clean or dirty" "what do you make for your dinner" and "what do you do when you get up in the morning"make a decision on my medical background? I will now try to appeal, can anyone tell me who is best to help with this?

Thanks Mr Taylor, I put an appeal in yesterday with the help of CAB. Can anyone tell me if its too late to ask for a copy of the medical report and who interviewed me and who to I phone to get this?
Mr Morgan left an annotation ()
You Must get a Copy of the Approved Disablity Analyst Report , thats the so called Health care professional employed by Atos , also ask for a copy of the decision Makers report and Name. you are allowed to see these !! , when you compare these I am sure you will find that the Decision Maker made the decision on the evidence of the H C P's report in fact it is a "Snap Shot Decison" as is now all too often being proved. The HCP's name will appear on the Doctors report, If you check the GMC website you can look for what doctors are on the register , enter the name of the doctor, It is becoming apparent that Doctors with ATOS are, and with no disrepect to the Medical Profession only GP status . many are not on The Specialist Register
that said how can they assess people with problems that they have no or limited knowlege of in a said Medical Discipline.
Contacting by phone DWP Jobcentreplus is a waste of time , no 2 agents (as they are called,) give you the same advice infact it is contradictory more often than not . In my case I am asking for everything in writing, I had appealed but now I will be sent to Industrial Tribunal Service whenever , Contacting a good Councillor in your neighbourhood is advisable ,I would urge everyone with these unfair decisions to make it know to your MP. They are there to SERVE us and get very good salaries so use them. It is also helpful by joining in the FORUMS esp black triangle you will be welcome the more the merrier, and sign as many petitions that you possibly can , With Kindest I wish you GOOD LUCK .

All, Chris Grayling is always very precise about where decisions are made and insists it is with his "Decision Makers" in DWP. THIS is where real problem lies. Their indisputable role is to vet Atos reports and if they are in any way at fault (which clearly many are) return them for correction. If these DMs were to be held fully accountable for what they do, we would not see them sanctioning so much shoddy work. My current appeal/complaint is at
http://tia-junior.blogspot.com/2011/11/d...
if you are interested. It is very important to put DWP on the spot - they could change Atos working practices overnight if they wanted to. It is DWP that has created and approved everything Atos does and precisely how it does it, so this is where the blame lies.
Mr Morgan left an annotation ()
Dear J Newman ,
I have read what you say in your blog , I absolutely FULLY agree with everything you have said, I too have had so much contradictions from Various so called agents at DWP JC+ I have written to them requesting everything as per written statement .
I note from the report of the Person (I can't call them HCPs) there are many inaccuracies contained therefore making it erroneous, I have challenged this in writing to DWP JC+ However the decision remains unchanged and I will have to go to The Independent Tribunals Service whenever that will be , and as we are all coming to learn The Tribunals Service is near to the point of collapse due to the incompetence of these DMs
Nothing we State in our Questionnaire is comparabled !
To all intense and purposes it is a "Snap Shot Decision", From the start I realised its the wording of ADA (Approved Disability Analyst) that influences /directs a DM on how to Score a claiment. And it is now becoming so very apparent nationwide !
Prof Harrington? in his latest report but do not quote me, that something about questions and decisions should be multi dimentional ie it should not be considered on the actual day but Fluctuations of a persons disabilty should be seriously considered etc .
My and almost everyone elses Decision is made soley on the report from the ADA (hcp) that assesses claiments !
My assessment was on 31/08/11 ,
The decision was made on 12/10/11
I was not informed until 04/11/11
My Incap Benefit ceased on 31/10/11
I was told in my letter to contact my Local JC+
I telephoned the number on the form . The first agent could not answer questions I raised and transferred me to another agent who specifically informed me she dealt with ESA . she could not answer my Questions or advise me and demanded a telephone contact number so someone could call me back in 3 Hours
3 agents to answer my Question,
The same happened two weeks later involving 4 agents
is that cost effective in these difficult times,
I have raised questions with JC+ and am awaiting their reply, everything now in written statements No More Calls To them it is a waste of time no 2 agents give you the same or reasonable answers.
I have found the website via BlackTriangle and joined the sister site Forum which is of immeasurable value.
If you are on that site I would certainly like to make contact with you via e'mail.
These so called HCPs sign the bottom of the report as "Approved Disabilty Analyst" I name them all ADA nowadays.
If they want this thing to work then what is firmly needed is to have people/claiments assessed By ADA that has more knowledge and training and above all "Understanding" pertaining to the individual circumstances.
I wish you every success . and hope you are on the Forum at Black Triange.

hi all.I have just been for my "medical assesment" as they call it. What a joke! I had a hernia operation and as many would know, the pain is unbearable and with a recouperation time of between 6 and 8 weeks taking care not to overdo it as told by the doctors and nurses. I could not believe the form i had to fill out sent to me by "Atos unhealthy care". Once in the waiting room,i could not believe what i saw and heard with my own ears and eyes.(oops, thats possible points deducted cause i can see and hear!) In front of me at the reception was a man with his wife who was unfortunatley in a wheel chair. They were seen to and then it was my turn to sign my name and print my date of birth(more points deducted) i took a seat and after a few minutes i saw the chap pushing his wife in the wheelchair out of the door. i thought, that was quick service, maybe i wont be here too long myself. Talking to the chap sat next to me i found this out." that couple with his wife in the wheelchair had been sent away because they could not be assessed. REASON: in the event of fire, they would not be able to use the lift and obviously she could not use the stairs. WHY ON EARTH do this Atos healthcare ask them to attend an assessment, knowing that they are wheelchair bound to an assessment clinic on a first floor????? yes i know, im still trying to get my head round it aswell. So Mr Cameron. Is this the best you can do with the NHS reform at the cost of the tax payer??? You need to read this and get a grip

If and I qoute
"I can confirm the DWP do not hold any information regarding the amounts paid to Atos Healthcare staff."
then how on earth can this statement be made, and I qoute
"Approved Healthcare Professionals who compile medical reports do not receive bonuses where the DWP decision makers have disallowed benefit. "
If the DWP does not hold ANY information regarding amounts paid to ATOS, then how do they know they are not paid a bonus,or other incentive?
