Dear General Medical Council,

How many complaints, enquiries or investigations have been made regarding doctors working for ATOS from January 2010 - December 2014.

If it goes above £450 then only 2013/14.

Please contact me if you need clarification of any of the words above?

Best wishes,

Yours faithfully,

Mark Ellen (0161 923 6347), General Medical Council

Dear Dr [name removed]

Reference: IAT/ME/F14/6751

I am sorry for the delay in replying to your query about the number of
enquiries that have been made about ATOS doctors in the years 2010-2014.

The table below shows the information you seek.

Enquiry Received Year # Enquiries
2010 103
2011 85
2012 171
2013 125
2014 54
Grand Total 538

An enquiry is defined as information received from a single source that
may raise concerns about the fitness to practise of a doctor.

It is important to note that although these enquiries have a case employer
of ATOS it does not necessarily mean that the doctor was brought to our
attention because of their ATOS work.

I should also explain that some of the enquiries for 2014, that were
recently received, may not have had employer information added as yet.
Thus, the total number of ATOS related enquiries for 2014 may rise.

I hope that this information is helpful to you.

Kind regards

Mark Ellen
