I write further to your recent request for information. Please find
detailed the following information:-

 

1.    Copy of your initial request.

 

2.    The following information as per your request:

 

Question 1

 

The Board’s data would not relate to all children with Autism as they
would not include children with autism spectrum disorder who have not been
referred to Board services. The most recent figure available for children
referred to Board services due to  autism was 1115.  

 

Further Information on all children identified as having Autism Spectrum
Disorder may be available from the Northern Ireland Health and Social Care
Trusts at the following link:

Question 2

 

The Board can advise that of the children who have Autism Spectrum
Disorder (ASD) 972 children have a statement of special educational needs.
