Thank you for your request for information received on 12 October 2022, in
which you asked for the following:

You requested the following information:

 1. Could you please provide the latest asbestos survey for Highgate wood
secondary school including any paper work related to asbestos removal
work.

 2. Could you also provide all documentation related to any refurbishment
work, including  planning application.

 3. Could you also confirm wether or not asbestos is still present in any
of the buildings.  

My response is as follows:

 1. Haringey Council holds the attached Asbestos Management surveys for
Highgate Wood Secondary school, there are Five (5) separate survey
reports each covering different buildings within the school's grounds.
The reports have been conducted in line with HSG264 Please also see
attached removal/remediation documentation following the
recommendation of the reports.
 2. Yes, Asbestos containing materials previously identified, remain
within four of the five buildings. All ACMs that have been identified
are being managed by the School, with support from Haringey in line
with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012.
 3. There were three major refurbishment works at Highgate Wood Secondary
School.

a)    Reroofing of the Wren building

 b. Refurbishment works for expansion by adapting Block C to provide
additional science teaching space/labs and WC’s.

Construction contract awarded and varied to Mulalley & Co Ltd for
£260,202.92

Practical completion 21^st January 2021

c) Reroofing works to the Dining Hall

• Which included replacement and re-design of a flat roof coverings
above a main circulation staircase.
• replacement of a number of large rooflights.
• investigation and remedial works to address long term water
penetration to an area of roof over an art room.
• expanding the floor area of the School’s dining room by internal
remodelling.

Haringey Council also provided 2 modular units to accommodate a bulge
class – handover 19^th October 2018.

Contract awarded and varied to Portacabin totalling £155,787.23
