Asbestos Contamination knowledge by inter alia Hilary Satchwell(TIBBALDS),Sean Ellis (Berkeley Group) LAMBETH COUNCIL CONTRACTORS, AND JED YOUNG and ALL other contractors WESTBURY
Dear Lambeth Borough Council/ ALISON MCKANE THE MONITORING OFFICER OF LAMBETH COUNCIL-Formal request for information and FOI
Hilary Satchwell(TIBBALDS),SEAN ELLIS(BERKELEY GROUP) LAMBETH COUNCIL CONTRACTORS, AND JED YOUNG and ALL OTHER CONTRACTORS ON WESTBURY
Hope all is well.
I make reference to A COUNCILLORS's asbestos contamination emails below.
Did the above mentioned know of Asbestos contamination?
When did you/THEY know?
What did you/THEY do protect, the public, school(heathbrook/nursery, residents, workers, ,postmen, emergency services who have intact with the location and neighbours?
Please provide written evidence or recorded of ALL the above.
Why are workers still hoarding up Westbury despite the email below from Cllr Bray?
In a frank conversation with an individual who identified himself as .... from Tibbalds/developing team or something to that effect, when asked about informing the entire community and /or a public meeting, reference was made to mention of 'contamination'. I have no evidence to suggest that 'asbestos contamination' was made categorically clear to all concerned most of whom, including neighbours, shop keepers, school parents. workers( i have spoken to some) were aware of the presence, dangers and any protection by any of Lambeth contractors to that effect. Can you please provided recorded evidence to confirm that assertion by the group /individual from 'Tibbalds'
As you can imagine this is a matter of critical public safety so ti would be helpful if this information is provided without delay.
kind regards
WEST BURY

Dear ,
Thank you for your email.
It is not unusual for contaminated land to be found when construction work is carried out. All construction work has been stopped and specialists will be brought in to clean the soil. Testing is now taking place to ascertain the full extend of the contamination. The removal strategy for cleaning the soil will be in accordance with the standard procedure for remediation across the U.K. and will not cause any risk to residents. Residents will not have to move while the remediation work is carried out.
I gather that residents have been fully informed of what is taking place, but further information will be provided as soon as possible.
Best regards,
