Dear Avon and Somerset Constabulary,

Please could you provide details of how many people have been (a)
arrested for (b) prosecuted for and (c) convicted of vice-related
offences by your force for the years 2008 to 2014 inclusive;
and if possible the gender and age/age-range of the persons.

Vice-related offences include:
Loitering or Soliciting for Prostitution
Trafficking for Sexual Exploitation
Causing, Inciting and Controlling Prostitution for Gain
Keeping a Brothel
Paying for Sexual Services

In regard to trafficking for Sexual Exploitation, if possible can
you specify whether the case related to prostitution or not.

I write in connection with your request for information dated 8^th
December concerning arrests.

 

Specifically you asked:

Vice-related offences include: Loitering or Soliciting for Prostitution
Trafficking for Sexual Exploitation, Causing, Inciting and Controlling
Prostitution for Gain, Keeping a Brothel Paying for Sexual Services.

 

In regard to trafficking for Sexual Exploitation, if possible can you
specify whether the case related to prostitution or not.

 

Please find the requested information for 2008 – 2014 in the table below.
There were three offences for trafficking. None of which were for
prostitution. Seven of the prosecutions are ongoing therefore we are
unable to say whether they have been convicted.

Although there is a marked difference between the number of those arrested
and those charged, this is due to our commitment as a force to using
restorative disposals, such as offering education courses as part of a
conditional caution for these types of offences.
