Dear  Katja Huijbers
Freedom of Information Act 2000
This request is being handled under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
I am writing to advise you that, following a search of our paper and
electronic records, I have established that the information you requested
is not held by Brent Council.

You requested the following information:

Q1.  Could you provide details of any service(s) you commission to provide
Independent Advocacy Support to adults and children or young people
receiving aftercare support under section 117 of the Mental Health Act?

Response: Gateway provides Independent Mental Health Act Advocacy

We do not provide or commission directly advocacy services for young
people. When required we use Brent Gateway service at the following link:

[1]http://brentgateway.org/
Q2. Could you provide details of any service(s) you commission to provide
Independent Advocacy Support to people going through Continuing Health
Care processes (adult) or Continuing Care (children)?

Response: Gateway does not support with these issues specifically. CHC is
a health service, as is wheelchair provision and personal health budgets.
The council does not commission advocacy support for those services.

Q3. Could you provide details of any service(s) you commission to provide
Independent Advocacy Support to people accessing personal wheelchair
budgets?

Response: Gateway does not support with these issues specifically. CHC is
a health service, as is wheelchair provision and personal health budgets.
The council does not commission advocacy support for those services.
Q4   Could you provide details of any service(s) you commission to provide
Independent Advocacy Support to people accessing or using personal health
budgets processes (both adult and children)?

Response: Gateway does not support with these issues specifically. CHC is
a health service, as is wheelchair provision and personal health budgets.
The council does not commission advocacy support for those services.

We would be grateful if you could tell us which services are commissioned.

Response: Gateway does not support with these issues specifically. CHC is
a health service, as is wheelchair provision and personal health budgets.
The council does not commission advocacy support for those services.

And lastly we would be grateful if you could indicate the budget allocated
for any of the above types of advocacy?

Response: It would be a proportion of the Gateway Budget for IMHA advocacy
– The budget is £550,000 per year, but IMHA is one service within a wider
contract, and there is not a specific value for IMHA services.
