Armchair auditors, looking under the bonnet of local councils - won't work
Dear Department for Communities and Local Government,
I have heard from the Government Office for the North West - a Not Me Guv letter. They aren't going to police the armchair auditors or the council under the bonnet inspections.
They said I should go to the Local Ombudsman. I did but they refused to deal with me because although I have lived in Stockport all my life, I didn't live in the vicinity of the toxic waste dump school. As a council taxpayer I am paying for this too small school, which is a danger to children and for which I had to borrow at the last minute £4 million, but I can't refer the matter to the Local Ombudsman.
What has Mr Pickles got in mind next to deal with this problem? I assume he thought about it carefully before rushing into it
Yours faithfully,
Sheila Oliver
Dear Department for Communities and Local Government,
Flippin' 'eck! Mr Pickles says Government Office for the North West will help me look under the bonnet of Stockport Council and let me be an armchair auditor, but I learn today they have been shut down completely.
I don't think Mr Pickles has thought any of this through, and I am sorry for all the people there who have lost their jobs.
Yours faithfully,
Sheila Oliver
Dear Department for Communities and Local Government,
Hello, what do I do now to hold Stockport Council to account? Has Mr Pickles thought this armchair auditors policy through? I think not!
Yours faithfully,
Sheila Oliver
Dear Department for Communities and Local Government,
You should have replied by now.
Yours faithfully,
Sheila Oliver
