Armagh Courts - Days sitting in Armagh versus sitting at other locations
Dear Department of Justice (Northern Ireland),
I would welcome the following information that I have been unable to discover for myself. I believe the Department of Justice (NI) holds this information.
Background:
It is my understanding that there are 4 Armagh Courts that sit at the Armagh Court House:
Magistrates’ Courts
County Courts
Coroner Courts
Tribunals
Question 1
For each of the 4 Armagh Courts named above how many days did each Armagh Court sit in 2023/24, 2022/23, 2019/20 and 2018/19?
Question 2
For each of the 4 Armagh Courts above how many days of each years Armagh Court sittings (answer to question 1) did each Court sit in Armagh versus how many did each Armagh Court sit in other locations such as Newry Court House?
Please can this be broken down into:
Armagh Magistrates’ Courts sitting in other non Armagh locations in 2023/24, 2022/23, 2019/20 and 2018/19
Armagh County Courts sitting in other non Armagh locations in 2023/24, 2022/23, 2019/20 and 2018/19?
Armagh Coroners Courts sitting in other non Armagh locations 2023/24, 2022/23, 2019/20 and 2018/19?
Armagh Tribunals sitting in other non Armagh locations in 2023/24, 2022/23, 2019/20 and 2018/19?
Question 3
What were the 3 most given reasons in 2023/24 for the Armagh Court sittings to be held at another location?
Yours faithfully,
Mark Dally

Dear NICTS Information Access,
I wrote to you last month regarding Armagh Courts - Days sitting in Armagh versus sitting at other locations.
Your response has not been received and it is now 1 May 2024.
By law you should have replied by 29 April 2024.
Please can you explain why you have failed to comply with the law, why I have had to ask for this explanation rather than being told proact and when a full response will be received?
I have a meeting with a Member of Parliament to discuss so will have to postpone this due to your delays. I will explain your non compliance as the reason to postpone to them.
Yours sincerely,
Mark Dally

Dear Mr Dally
In our prior e-mail of today’s date, the subject line incorrectly stated
FOI 34/24 as your reference number instead of FOI 28/24, which has been
rectified above.
Please consider this e-mail as an explanation for the administrative
error, and an apology for any confusion caused.
Kind Regards
