Dear Chris
Your information request: F16/7972/CA
Thank you for your email dated 23 February, asking:
Staff Grade/Staff Surgeon/Speciality Doctors, are they required to be on the GMCs Specialist Register?
Are they required to be on the GMCs GP Register?
My colleague Louise Gormley has provided given answers about GMC's specialist register in your previous question on www.whatdotheyknow.com (our ref F16/7863/LG).
In respect of the GP register, only doctors who have completed the appropriate training and who work in general practice are required to be on the GP register. You can find further information about the GP register at http://www.gmc-uk.org/doctors/register/g....
I hope you find this information useful. If you have any queries about the way I’ve handled your request, please contact Julian Graves, Information Access Manager, at [email address].
Yours sincerely
