Dear DOJ FOI Mailbox,

Can you please confirm the date and amount of this contract?

Yours sincerely,

Sinead Quinn

DOJ FOI Mailbox, Department of Justice (Northern Ireland)

Dear Ms Quinn,

With reference to your request below, the business area who prepared the original response have advised that the contract for the disablement assessment service to support the Troubles Permanent Disablement Payment Scheme (TPDPS) was awarded to Capita on behalf of the Victims’ Payments Board on 2 February 2021. The contract is for an initial period of 36 months with the option to extend for up to two further periods of up to two years each.

An estimated value of the contract of £10m was published in the Official Journal of the European Union which was based on the estimated number of applications to the Scheme at that time. Payments to Capita will be made using a cost-plus pricing mechanism and so the total cost of the contract will depend on the number of applications to the scheme.

Regards

DoJ Records & Information Team
