Dear Judicial Office for England and Wales,
Freedom of Information Act request
I am writing to request information concerning the number of "approved research projects" that have been approved in writing by a Secretary of State after consultation with the President of the Family Division or approved in writing by the President of the Family Division pursuant to paragraph 2.1 of Practice Direction 12G of the Family Procedure Rules 2010 (link: http://www.justice.gov.uk/courts/procedu...).
Please could you provide data showing the number of such research projects approved from 1 January 2011 to date, whether the research project has been approved by the President of the Family Division or by a Secretary of State (and which one), the name of the research project and the person(s) or organisation authorised to carry out such research.
I am sending a copy of this request to the Ministry of Justice as I anticipate that they may hold the details of any approvals granted by a Secretary of State.
Please find attached a reply to your email of 5 March 2012.
