Dear Mr Ghai

Thank you for contacting Buckinghamshire Council and your request for
information below regarding dropped kerbs.

Request:
Please supply under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, a list of
certificated and council approved contractors in the County of
Buckinghamshire that may carry out the work of dropping a kerb for vehicle
access to a residential property.

Please also supply registered address or other contact details of the
qualifying contractors.

Response:
Whilst we believe your request does not fall under the 'Freedom of
Information' legislation, we have treated your enquiry as 'Business as
Usual' and hope you will find the following information of use:

Unfortunately, we do not hold a list of approved contractors - we do not
provide advance approval of a contractor, nor do we certify them for any
licensed works within the highway.  Approval is given upon submission of a
contractor's documents with an application.

We request that any contractor that is employed by a licensee to work
within the highway holds accreditations, provided by an external company,
to show that they have undertaken the necessary training to comply with
the New Roads and Streetworks Act and that they hold sufficient public
liability insurance.

We are not a broker for contractors and encourage the residents of
Buckinghamshire to search for a contractor of their choosing, that holds
the necessary requirements for a streetworks licence.

With kind regards
Freedom of Information Team
