1)How many parents have applied for a Statutory Assessment of SEN
for their child since 2005?
136 parental requests since 1st January 2005
2) Of those parents, how many were successful in their application
first time?
42 cases (plus 5 re-assessments)
3) Of those parents, how many were unsuccessful in their
application first time?
83 cases (plus 5 re-assessments)
4) Of the parents in 3), how many parents appealed or complained
and subsequently had their application accepted?
12 cases, subsequently accepted following a referral from another agency (i.e. school
EP, etc.
18 cases, subsequently accepted following further parental referral / deferred for more
advice
5) How many parents of children in Stockport have complained to
SENDIST since 2005?
We only hold records dating back to 2006 since that time 51 parents have exercised
their right to appeal to SENDIST
6) Of those parents in 5), how many cases were unopposed/ withdrawn
by Stockport LA i.e. parents received the outcome that they had
wanted without going to Tribunal?
Of the 51cases 5 are currently ongoing, 2 were struck out, 6 went in favour of the LA, 2
went in favour of the parents and 36 were withdrawn following negotiation with the LA
