"Anti-monarchy protester suing Met chief over coronation day arrest"
Dear Metropolitan Police Service (MPS),
in September last year, Graham Smith & the organisation Republic sued the Met for wrongful arrests & detentions, following the 'once in a lifetime' opportunity to protest peacefully & lawfully in a democracy against the Coronation of an hereditary monarch.
Since that action commenced, I can find no further public reference by the police.
Please could you disclose to me,
1) The case reference number, and Court name where the case is being heard
2) Full details of any settlement reached with Mr. Smith and/or Republic; particularly the date when that settlement was agreed, and the value of any financial compensation that has been paid
3) The costs to the Met of defending this case (if any)
Yours faithfully,
P John
