Following the latest Government advice about the COVID-19 emergency, the Prisons and Probation Ombudsman continues to work remotely.
•We are working with a postal scanning company to ensure we can access complaints from prisoners and other mail.
•Letters will be scanned and sent to our investigators who are working remotely.
•They have been working hard throughout the lockdown to complete ongoing investigations but will now be able to investigate new eligible complaints.
•Our complaints investigators are also trialling the use of email a prisoner to respond to complaints from people in prison where appropriate.
•We will carefully consider what can be sent via email, mindful of the need for confidentiality.
•We continue to work on solutions to allow us to send other letters by post.

Dear Lucy
Of course it is - I don't know what my office were doing asking for it now - and given the current situation I'll be astonished if you get it out on time.
These things go out with my name on them all the time - I am writing this reply btw lol - and people automatically think its come from me.
I then have to explain the situation - it's a bit like Kentucky Fried Chicken, KFC, just because Colonel Sanders face and name are on the bucket, doesn't mean he is the guy out in the kitchen cooking your chicken!
Regards
Mark
