Annual health checks for people with a learning disability

The request was successful.

Dear South West Essex Primary Care Trust (PCT),

In light of your trusts responsibility for commissioning the existing direct enhanced services payment scheme, I would be grateful if could you provide the following information:

1) The overall total of GP surgeries in your trusts area
2) The overall total of GP surgeries in your trusts area who are currently in receipt of direct enhanced services and are therefore expected to offer annual health checks for people with a learning disability.
3) This number as a percentage of the total number of GP surgeries within your trusts area.
4) The names of those GP surgeries in your trusts area currently in receipt of direct enhanced services and therefore offering annual health checks .
5) Any postcode districts within your trusts region that have no GP surgeries in receipt of direct enhanced services and therefore no GP surgeries offering annual health checks.

I look forward to your response.

With thanks,
Clare Lucas

Dear Clare

I have checked throughout our systems and have no record of this request on the 'whatdotheyknow.com' reference number you have quoted here.
I do have one which I suspect is yours as it is marked for 'Clare' @whatdotheyknow.com; due a return on 22 January and has the same subject title but it's not '[FOI #142768 email]'.

As I do not wish to quote the other reference and surname I have, in case this isn't you, please could you confirm if your received an acknowledgement from me on 21 December 2012; your surname and the original question(s).

If it matches the one I have on file then the information was sent out on 16 Jan 2013 but. As I said, not to this quoted reference.

I would be grateful if you could get back to me asap. Either email of phone on the contact details below.

Many thanks
Janet

Dear Janet,

My surname is Lucas if this helps clarify at all. I never received an acknoweldgement email to my request but can confirm that my request was sent on the 19th December 2012 asking for information about annual health checks for people with a learning disability.

Do I now need to resubmit my request?

Yours sincerely,

Clare

Hi Clare

I’ve figured out what’s happened.  You actually sent two FOI requests for
the same information, one to SE Essex and one to SW Essex.  For some
reason the SW Essex has never reached me for actioning.  However, as you
can see below (highlighted), we are now NHS South Essex and unless we
still have two separate departments the information send out is from both
SE & SW.

If you check the information I sent out under FOI 995 (see attachment) you
will see that you have data from both SE and SW.

I apologise that your second request seems to have been mislaid, I can
only assume that someone thought it was a duplicate so did not pass it on
to me.  I will certainly mention this oversight to the staff to avoid this
happening again.

For future requests you might like to consider sending one request
covering both areas; especially in the light of CCG transitioning where
most PCTs will be merging soon.  For a little while longer, however, SW &
SE we will still be functioning as NHS South Essex.

I hope this helps explain what’s happened but should you need anything
further please do not hesitate to contact me.

Kind regards

Janet
