Annual health checks for people with a learning disability
Dear Redbridge Primary Care Trust (PCT),
In light of your trusts responsibility for commissioning the existing direct enhanced services payment scheme, I would be grateful if could you provide the following information:
1) The overall total of GP surgeries in your trusts area
2) The overall total of GP surgeries in your trusts area who are currently in receipt of direct enhanced services and are therefore expected to offer annual health checks for people with a learning disability.
3) This number as a percentage of the total number of GP surgeries within your trusts area.
4) The names of those GP surgeries in your trusts area currently in receipt of direct enhanced services and therefore offering annual health checks .
5) Any postcode districts within your trusts region that have no GP surgeries in receipt of direct enhanced services and therefore no GP surgeries offering annual health checks.
I look forward to your response.
With thanks,
Clare Lucas

Dear Sue,
Many thanks for your response. I just have three questions.
For NHS Redbridge, NHS Havering and NHS Waltham Forest the number of GP practices listed in the email response differs from the number of GP practices detailed in the attached spreadsheet;
- Redbridge is meant to have 47 GP practices and 42 providing health checks, but the spreadsheet lists 48 practices and says 40 are offering health checks
- Havering is meant to have 51 GP practices and 24 providing health checks, but the spreadsheet lists 54 practices and says 40 are offering health checks
- Waltham Forest is meant to have 45 GP practices and 40 providing health checks, but the spreadsheet lists 46 practices and says 41 are offering health checks
I would be grateful if you could offer some further clarity to identify which information is correct.
Yours sincerely,
Clare
Dear Clare
Thank you for your email about our response to your request.
We have investigated your queries and have determined that whilst the
response was being prepared there were some finalised practice
closures/mergers which were not recorded within the spreadsheets.
We therefore enclose a new set of spreadsheets which nominate the closures
and mergers along with the following explanation:-
NHS Redbridge
There are 47 practices, one practice has closed down and there are 39
practices providing health checks.
NHS Havering
There are 51 practices, closures/mergers are shown on the spreadsheet, and
there are 39 practices providing health checks.
NHS Waltham Forest
There are 45 practices, one practice has closed/merged and there are 40
practices providing health checks.
We apologise for the misinformation.
Kind regards
