Amount of tax income to UK and EU under WTO conditions

The request was refused by Department for Exiting the European Union.

Dear Department for Exiting the European Union,

Do you have information on the amount of tariff income to the EU and UK if current trading terms are transferred to WTO terms under the EU tariff regime. If you could break this information down by main SEC code category. I would assume this would be under current trading volumes per category.

Yours faithfully,

Alan Watt

Dear Department for Exiting the European Union,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Department for Exiting the European Union's handling of my FOI request 'Amount of tax income to UK and EU under WTO conditions'.

I fail to understand how a request for information on hypothetical tax levels will influence future relationships with the EU. The information is held by the DExEU and will also be held by the corresponding EU governments and departments.

If you still cannot supply the requested information could I ask for two pieces of information:
a) the current (or last years) trading volume (import and exports) by SEC code with the EU (preferably with country splits)
b) the current EU import tariffs by SEC code.

I cannot see how a request for a) could be refused. b) is freely available - although it would be much more useful to have this information in one tabular form as it is time consuming to get from the internet.
I cannot see that

Dear DEXEU Freedom of Information Team Mailbox,

in your response DEX000650 you have stated that you have the information initially requested, but that it would or be likely to prejudice: (a) relations between the UK and any other State; (c) the interests of the UK abroad, or; (d) the promotion or protection by the UK of its interests abroad.

Dear Department for Exiting the European Union,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Department for Exiting the European Union's handling of my FOI request 'Amount of tax income to UK and EU under WTO conditions'.

I have requested an internal review of this request. I do not know if this has happened yet and whether I am now at a position to take this request further.

I do understand that the DExEU has allowed the release of information recently and would assume that this request would come under the recent releases. If so it would seem most simple to release the information.

If the information is not available for release I request review at the next level.
regards
Alan
