Amount of departmental spending on Solar power

The request was partially successful.

Dear Department of Energy and Climate Change,

I would like to request the amount of departmental spending on Solar power research, construction, maintenance and deconstruction for UK. I would like the spending broken down by:

1. The type of solar power, that is:
- Solar thermal (using the sunshine for direct heating of buildings or water)
- Solar photovoltaic (generating electricity from sunlight either on the roofs of buildings or in photovoltaic farms)
- Solar biomass (which takes plants and burns them in a power station that produces electricity or heat or both, or takes plants and turn them into ethanol or biodiesel, or take by-products from other agricultural activities and burn
them in a power station)
and
- those that don't fit into any of the categories mentioned.

2. Category of spending in the supplementary budgetary report
(http://www.hm-treasury.gov.uk/d/sbi66_de...). Examples of
categories that seem most likely are:
- Supporting affordable, secure and sustainable energy
- Bringing about a low-carbon UK

AND

3. Time: I would like this information broken down annually from 2003 up to the time this request is answered. The years should be consistent with those in the supplementary budgetary report
(http://www.hm-treasury.gov.uk/d/sbi66_de...)

I realise that the Department for Energy and Climate Change has only been in existence for a year and so I would like the equivalent spending from BERR to be included in this request.

I would like the spending to be in an Excel spreadsheet.

Yours faithfully,

Lisa Evans
