Amount of confiscation debt owed to HMRC.

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, HM Revenue and Customs should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear HM Revenue and Customs,

I am researching the amount of debt owed by prisoners to all LEAs, CPS etc.
HMCTS has provided me with details that the Confiscation Debt in Mar 2019 was £2 billion and rose to £3.6 billion by Mar 2021. Please can you tell me how much of this confiscation debt (confiscation orders or POCA orders) is owed to HMRC, given that the largest orders are usually a result of tax fraud?

Thank you.

Yours faithfully,

Nicholas Holland
