30/07/2017 - Ambulance catches fire on the M5.

I aks to be provided:

1. a copy of the fire investigation report; cause and any recommendations etc.
2. all correspondence to and from Highways England. I anticipate the Authority will have sought information about the incident and recovery of the costs associated with attendance and repair
3. the vehicle registration mark and service history
4. all costs associated with the incident

Thank you for your additional question. Our Fleet team have advised:

 

‘Highways England have not currently approached the Trust for any damage,
repair or attendance costs in regards to the incident.

In the event that they do so the Trust would direct them to deal directly
with our insurance company.’

Our Fleet department have confirmed that we do not hold any
correspondence.

 

Normally if an accident occurs Highways England will send a standard
letter to the Trust asking for details of our insurers. This letter is
then destroyed as routine practice, hence we do have any retained
documentation.
