Allotment waiting list data
Dear Sir or Madam,
As of December 2008, please could you tell me:
1) How many allotment sites are there in the Borough for which the council has access to waiting list data?
2) How many plots are on these sites?
3) How many people are on these waiting lists for an allotment?
4) Are any of these waiting lists closed to further applications?
5) How many sites are there in total in the Borough?
Yours faithfully,
Margaret Campbell

Dear Ms Cambell
Thank you for your Freedom of Information request our reference 1470.
Stockport Council is happy to respond with the following information;
for your ease of reference I will reproduce your questions followed by
the responses.
As of December 2008, please could you tell me:
The Stockport Parks Service are currently auditing both the allotments
sites themselves and the information held on them. However as of
December 2008 the following can be reported:
1) How many allotment sites are there in the Borough for which the
council has access to waiting list data?
There are currently 8 sites that are local authority managed and to
which there is access to the waiting list data
2) How many plots are on these sites?
There are 68 plots
3) How many people are on these waiting lists for an allotment?
Waiting lists are in place for four of the eight sites. The total number
of people on waiting lists for these four sites is 31
4) Are any of these waiting lists closed to further applications?
No, but given the relatively slow turnover of tenants a maximum number
of people on waiting lists is something that will be explored further.
5) How many sites are there in total in the Borough
There are 35 sites, the majority of which are managed by various
allotment societies.
