Allotment waiting list data

Oxford City Council did not have the information requested.

Margaret Campbell

Dear Sir or Madam,

As of December 2008, please could you tell me:

1) How many allotment sites are there in the Council area for which the council has access to waiting list data?

2) How many plots are on these sites?

3) How many people are on these waiting lists for an allotment?

4) Are any of these waiting lists closed to further applications?

5) How many sites are there in total in the Council area?

Yours faithfully,

Margaret Campbell

HUGHES Martin, Oxford City Council

Dear Ms Campbell,
Thank you for your Freedom of Information enquiry dated
December 21st.

All our allotment sites are leased to Allotment
Associations, who are responsible for the letting, waiting lists, and
charges for the plots. The Council does not keep details of these.

Currently we lease 30 sites, and there are another 5
sites that are privately leased (College/Parish Council/charity (Elder
Stubbs).

We are currently working with the Associations and the
Allotment Federation on the number of plots at each site. Details of the
sites are on the Council's website at
http://www.oxford.gov.uk/leisure/allotme....

(N.B. The Web page lists 36 sites, but one of these (no. 17) is no
longer in use.)

I hope this assists, but if you disagree with any part of this response
you are entitled to ask Oxford City Council for an internal review of
the decision(s) made. You may do this by writing to The Monitoring
Officer, Oxford City Council, The Town Hall, Blue Boar Street, Oxford,
OX1 4EY. If, after the result of an internal review, you are still not
satisfied, you may ask the Information Commissioner to intervene on your
behalf. You may do this by writing to The Information Commissioner's
Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF.

Yours sincerely,
