Dear Farida and Yana
Thank you for your request for information concerning Allotment Tenancy Agreements and related Costs. Cheshire East Council is a fairly new authority which came into existence in April 2009; previously Crewe & Nantwich Council, Congleton and Macclesfield councils were responsible for local allotments and today the area is divided into North (Macclesfield) and South (Crewe & Nantwich). I have attached the tenancy agreements which those Councils used and which are still in operation.
In response to your further questions:-
2. No earlier documents exist.
3. No changes made – consultation with tenants ongoing as we review how we manage allotments across the Borough following Local Government Reorganisation.
4. No documentation as yet – we will develop this once decisions are made to change existing system.
5. No decision for change has been made so no timescale exists.
6. Rental charges for 2010/2011 period - range from £5 up to £55 per annum, depending on plot size and any facilities provided on site. (Previous years have seen only maximum increments of 2.5% year on year).
7. Water costs have not been levied onto allotment holders to date. We are currently investigating how to do this to cover our growing bills with the rapid increase in water costs.
8. We currently offer a 50% concession for OAP’s.
9. Waste removal is managed on an ad hoc basis (Council trailers provided occasionally when requested by site representatives).
I trust this completes your request.
