Dear Farida Vis and Yana Manyukhina,

In response to your FOI request, the Council does not directly manage the
allotment sites that we own. Each of our nine sites are leased to local
allotment societies who manage their own allotment site. I have answered
your queries where I can but most of the information you seek will be down
to each of the nine allotment societies.

1)       The Council does not rent individual plots directly, each site is
managed by an individual allotment society who lease the site from the
Council and are responsible for the administration and management of the
site including renting individual plots.

2)       See point 1.

3)       The Council have not undertaken any public consultation with
regards to tenancy agreements for allotment plots and I am not aware of
any such consultation carried out by any of the allotment societies
either.

4)       See point 3.

5)       It is up to the individual allotment societies to decide if they
want to make any changes to their tenancy agreements with plot holders

6)       Costs of plots are determined by each of the allotment societies
and vary between sites. You would have to contact each allotment society
for their current prices.

7)       Charges for water are again determined by each allotment society
and vary between site, they would be able to advise how they calculate
water charges

8)       Discounts would also be down to the individual allotment society
to determine, though I am not aware of any discounts offered at any site.

9)       General waste removal is the responsibility of the allotment
societies. However, five of the sites are only partly self-managed and we
do occasionally provide them with a skip to dispose of additional waste
when required, though we only allow a maximum of two skips per year to
each site. Costs as requested below:

Calendar year Cost of waste removal from allotment sites to Woking
Borough Council (ie skip hire)
2008 £366.61
2009 £758.25
2010 £896.83
2011 £1,165.05
2012 (projected) £1,165.05
2013 (projected) £1,165.05

Regards
