Allotment costs
Dear Ceredigion Council,
Please would you acknowledge the following requests:
1. How many council allotment sites are there within your Council?
2. Can you please send us the cost of an allotment within your
Council for the years: 2012 and 2013 and what they will be
for 2014. Please state clearly if this is for a full or a half plot and what size these are.
3. Can you please send us the cost of using water as charged to
individual plot holders within your Council for the years: 2012 and 2013 and what they will be for 2014.
4.
Can you please send us the rate of the discount available for
renting an allotment plot within your Council for the years: 2012 and 2013 and what they will be for 2014.
5. What has the cost of waste removal been to the Council in
relation to allotment sites for 2012 and what are they likely to be for 2013 and 2014?

Freedom of Information Request regarding Allotment Costs
Further to your Freedom of Information Request dated 16th March 2013,
please find below the response to your request. Please let me apologise in
the delay in getting a full response to you, this was due to the collation
of data taking longer than was anticipated.
Ceredigion County Council has a total of four allotment sites within the
County.
The cost of an allotment within Ceredigion for the year 2012 / 2013 was
between £34.00 and £37.00 pa and for 2013 / 2014 they will be between
£35.50 and £38.50 pa. The costs for 2014 / 2015 have not been decided yet
but will be increased in line with inflation. These charges are for a full
plot as there are currently no half plots and the plot sizes are variable.
The cost of water used at the allotment sites is included in the annual
allotment rental fee.
Ceredigion County Council does not offer any discounts on allotment plots.
There is no waste collection from the Council’s allotments. It is the
plot holder’s responsibility to dispose of their waste on site by
recycling or removal to the Household Waste site.
