Dear Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service,

I understand the difficulties of the service with funding since 2010 and the resulting reduction in the service over the years since 2010..

However, I note that since the reduction of frontline pumps in that period at most stations there have been increases in vehicles at the following stations;

Aintree,
Croxteth,
Crosby,
City Centre and
Wallasey.

I am curious as to why those stations received additonal cover, albeit in some cases temporarily and not others.

Can you explain why City Centre and Wallasey have three vehicles?

And finally, are there any plans in the future to reinstate second pumps at Krkby, Speke, Toxteth or Birkenhead?

I hope my request is clear enough.

Yours faithfully,

Peter Hughes.
