We do not keep a register of all HMOs in the town but we have attached a
copy of the public register of licensed HMOs.
FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 – Someone else’s personal data
Crawley Borough Council has considered your request and believes that the
absolute exemption pursuant to Section 40 of the Freedom of Information
Act 2000 is applicable. This exemption relates to third party requests
for personal information and is decided in accordance with the data
protection principles.
As the information requested is personal information which is beyond that
required to be published, it is considered that the release of such
information would be in breach of the Data Protection Act principles:
• Principle 1: “Personal data shall be processed fairly and lawfully.” In
particular, people’s personal data should be handled only in ways they
would “reasonably expect”.
