All data held in Yahoo Groups used by OfCom
Dear Office of Communications,
With the recent announcement from Yahoo! that they will be closing “Yahoo! Groups”, there have been several mentions in the press about the fact that OfCom use, or used, this service to manage parts of the UK network infrastructure. (See report: https://www.theverge.com/2019/10/17/2091... ).
I would like like to request a copy of all data from the Yahoo Group(s) used by OfCom for managing network infrastructure. My request includes both the available metadata from each group (Group Name, Number of Members, Number of Messages, Number of Files, Number of Photos) as well as the actual data itself, again, for each group. (Files, Polls, Links, Photos, Folders, Calendar, Database, Attachments, Conversations, Email Updates, Message Digest, Message History).
Yours faithfully,
Mr Ferguson

Dear Mr Ferguson,
I am writing to you to request clarification on the following information
request:
With the recent announcement from Yahoo! that they will be closing “Yahoo!
Groups”, there have been several mentions in the press about the fact that
OfCom use, or used, this service to manage parts of the UK network
infrastructure. (See
report: [1]https://eur01.safelinks.protection.outlo...).
I would like like to request a copy of all data from the Yahoo Group(s)
used by OfCom for managing network infrastructure. My request includes
both the available metadata from each group (Group Name, Number of
Members, Number of Messages, Number of Files, Number of Photos) as well as
the actual data itself, again, for each group. (Files, Polls, Links,
Photos, Folders, Calendar, Database, Attachments, Conversations, Email
Updates, Message Digest, Message History).
There is a Yahoo! Group which is moderated by Ofcom but it is not used, as
you claim, for managing network infrastructure. Ofcom’s only involvement
is to manage membership to the group which is used by telecoms providers
to discuss number allocation.
If you would still like to request information about this group, we would
be happy to treat that as a new FOI request but I should say that with any
information held, exemptions may apply.
Therefore, please can you respond to this email within the next five
working days, by 4 November?
I look forward to your response.
Yours sincerely,
Emma Leech
