Alcohol Licences/ number of pubs/ anything alcohol related

The request was successful.

Dear Hull City Council,

To whom it may concern,

I am a student currently on a work placement at the Black Sheep Brewery, I am undertaking a project to quantify the size of the alcohol universe within our wonderful county of Yorkshire. I have been informed that the information I am seeking falls under the Freedom of Information Act.

The information I am hoping to find is the number of alcohol licenses within Yorkshire, including pubs, clubs, hotels, supermarkets etc. I would also be interested in any additional detail such as the number of pubs/hotels specifically that would be hugely appreciated. I would also be interested in any figures you may have for things like average age, average drinking age etc, essentially any information you have around alcohol within Yorkshire would be of tremendous value. I am looking to have the figures specific to the council areas of Yorkshire eg. The number of alcohol licenses/ age demographic/ number of pubs specifically within the Barnsley area/ Bradford area/ York area etc to cover the whole of Yorkshire if possible.

If you could please let me know an estimate of the cost of obtaining such information?

I hope this information is indeed shareable, if for some reason you are unable to send us these details please could you recommend somewhere I can find it out?

Yours faithfully,

James
