Air Quality Monitoring devices

The request was successful.

Dear Aberdeen City Council,

During 2016-17 approximately, the IT and Transformation service procured a number of air quality monitoring devices. These were of two types - one group was of Egg-type devices. The other were of a type to be carried on the person. The officer (MW) who procured these worked in the Digital Transformation team at the team of their purchase.

a) how many are there of each type?

b) where are these devices now (i.e individual locations if they have been deployed, or storage etc)

c) where can the public get access to the data being generated by them if they are live?

d) if they are not deployed, live and generating data, when will they be?

e) if the council has no immediate plans to make live any that are not currently live, could they be donated to our community group to adopt them and use them for community benefit?

Yours faithfully,

George Smith

Dear Mr Smith,

Thank you for your information request of 2 May 2018.  Aberdeen City
Council (ACC) has completed the necessary search for the information
requested.

During 2016-17 approximately, the IT and Transformation service procured a
number of air quality monitoring devices. These were of two types - one
group was of Egg-type devices. The other were of a type to be carried on
the person.  The officer who procured these worked in the Digital
Transformation team at the time of their purchase.

a) how many are there of each type?

6 x Egg-type devices

20 x ‘carried on person’ devices

b) where are these devices now (i.e individual locations if they have been
deployed, or storage etc)

Devices are in storage.

c) where can the public get access to the data being generated by them if
they are live?

Devices are not live.

d) if they are not deployed, live and generating data, when will they be?

There are no current plans to deploy these devices, however, this will be
revisited after the General Data Protection Regulation comes into force on
25 May 2018.

e) if the council has no immediate plans to make live any that are not
currently live, could they be donated to our community group to adopt them
and use them for community benefit?

We are happy to discuss partnership use. Please contact Martin Wyllie,
Transform Improvement Advisor, on 01224 523536 or email

We hope this helps with your request.

Yours sincerely,
