Air quality: Liveability perfomance indicator scores for London

Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities did not have the information requested.

Dear Sir or Madam,

Please tell me what information the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) holds , in respect of Greater London and/or each Borough in Greater London, on the liveability performance indicator score - in particular with reference to your scale of 1 ('no problems') to 5 ('major problems') - for each of: ambient air quality; heavy traffic; and intrusion from motorways/arterial roads.

This information was referred to by Iain Wright (PUS, DCLG) when he responded to a written question from Eric Pickles on 15 July 2008. I believe the data for the poor quality environment indicator may be collected through the English House Condition Survey (EHCS). See TheyWorkForYou.com:

The DCLG has suggested previously that ‘Maxime Twitchen’ may be able to help.

I look forward to hearing from you. Please will you confirm receipt of this message.

With best wishes.

Yours faithfully,

Maxime Twitchen,

Simon,

The data for the poor quality environment indicator as referred to in Iain
Wright's answer of the 15th July is collected through the English House
Condition Survey (EHCS). The department does not have data relating to
this indicator for Greater London boroughs or Greater London itself. The
EHCS is a national survey which cannot provide estimates below three broad
regional areas of England, i.e. south east regions (the South East and
London), northern regions (North West, North East, Yorkshire & Humber) and
the rest of England (East Midlands, West Midlands, South West and East of
England).

I have included a link below to our EHCS website which shows data for 03,
04 and 05.

Hope that is helpful.

Maxime.
