Dear Department for Transport,

This FoI relates to air freight through Heathrow. The request refers to publications by the DfT such as ‘Why we prefer a new runway at Heathrow’ noting a doubling of air freight capacity to 3m tonnes.

1. Please provide any notes, spreadsheet models or data, internal presentations, emails or meeting minutes that clearly show how the freight CAPACITY is doubled to 3m tonnes with expansion at Heathrow as stated. The information should show the starting point capacity to be presumably around 1.5mt and capacity distribution by route. This should be differentiated from the present level of freight handled or DEMAND which the DfT Statistics (Table TSGB02020c, AVI0102c), quote as 1541kt for Heathrow in 2016.

Yours faithfully,

David Gilbert

Department for Transport
