The request was partially successful.

Dear Foreign and Commonwealth Office,

For the purposes of this freedom of information request the Agreement Governing the Activities of States on the Moon and Other Celestial Bodies shall be referred to as the Moon Treaty.

Please release and make known all correspondence, documentation, paperwork, meetings, and other similar information relating to the Moon Treaty.

Can the UK position on the ratification of the Moon Treaty be made known and if there are any plans to accede and ratify the treaty be made known?

How compliant is UK law in relation to alignment with the Moon Treaty and would new legislation be required to implement the Moon Treaty?

Yours faithfully,

L-M Nelson

Dear Foreign and Commonwealth Office,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Foreign and Commonwealth Office's handling of my FOI request 'Agreement Governing the Activities of States on the Moon and Other Celestial Bodies, also known as the Moon Treaty'.

The response I have received is appalling. To state that the response received is adequate to indicate that this is not an FOI for which the FCO are handling is outrageous. There is no salutation and no sign off to the message and it is assumed that it will be understood to mean that the FCO are not the correct government department for this request. If the FCO do not hold the information this must be clearly stated. If the FCO are refusing the FOI then a refusal notice must be issued.

To state the response received is adequate is absurd. Receiving a response stating "This inbox deals with Freedom of Information requests for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office only." is an acknowledgement of receipt and nothing else. This FOI is for the FCO so this inbox is the correct inbox as far as I am concerned, and the message received confirms that. It is codswallop to state the message means this FOI has been rejected oh has been submitted to the wrong department.

The handling of this request has been dismissive and derisive. Another response which I received from the FCO to a different request was clear and precise in the response regarding which department was the proper department and what clarifications were needed for the FCO to respond to the FOI. this can found at this link: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/i...
Why has the above response not been replicated to apply to this response?

A full history of this FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/a...

I look forward to hearing a full and frank response in a timely manner.

Yours faithfully,

L-M Nelson (Miss)
