8. And who is responsible for managing them?

Unfortunately, we are unable to disclose to you the names and contact
details for the individuals specified as disclosure would breach the first
Data Protection Principle. Section 40(2) for the purposes of section 40(3)
(a) (i) provides an exemption for information which is the personal data
of any third party, where disclosure would contravene any of the data
protection principles contained in the Data Protection Act 1998. The
Trust’s position is that there is no legitimate interest in disclosing the
names of junior officials as they are not responsible for projects and
policies which are sufficiently high profile to merit a public interest in
knowing their identities. It would therefore be unfair to disclose their
names and a breach of the 1st Data Protection Principle. There also is the
risk of junior officials being continuously disrupted if their contact
details were disclosed into the public domain. The Directors at the Trust
on the other hand are held accountable for such projects and policies in
accordance with their level of involvement and hold overall corporate
responsibility at The Royal Marsden. We have therefore provided the name
of the Director responsible (Krystyna Ruszkiewicz) for the position
identified in your request.
