Walsall Council is working extremely hard to ensure the safety and
wellbeing of all residents of the borough during this difficult period. As
part of this working practices and priorities within the council may need
to change in line with advice from the Government and our own Public
Health Service.

can tell you the following:

1)      What was the value of spend on temporary staff from recruitment
agencies by the Council in 2020 – 2021 and 2021 – 2022?

 

Please also ensure that a gross spend value is detailed and include all

The below figures include total agency spend through our MSP provider,
Starting Point Recruitment (SPR):

20/21 = £11,618,449

21/22 = £12,272,583

 

 

2)      If you have a managed service provider (MSP) in place for the
provision of temporary agency staff, please provide the following;

 

a. How was the contract to manage/provide the supply of agency/temporary
staff let?

 

The Council carried out an open Procurement process, publishing the tender
on the Council’s InTend procurement Portal.

 

 

b. Who was the contract to manage/provide the supply of
agency/temporary staff let to?

 

An open procurement process allowed for any interested Providers to take
part in the tender process and to submit a bid.

The winning Provider was Starting Point Recruitment (SPR).

 

 

c. When did the contract to manage / provide the supply of temporary
/ agency staff commence, how long does it run for and what is the end
date?

 

The contract commenced on 1^st April 2019; the end date is 31^st March
2023.
