Dear Clatterbridge Centre for Oncology NHS Foundation Trust,
Please can you provide me with further information on the supply of
agency Staff to your trust/authority. Please could you advise on
the agency/locum spend for the following categories during the
following time periods:

All Health Science Services (HSS)
Radiography / Medical Imaging
Physiotherapy
Pathology
Pharmacy
Mortuary

Medical Locums (Doctors)
Time periods:

Please outline details of any current framework or preferred
supplier list in place for the supply of agency/locum staff within
the above categories to your trust/authority along with details on
any renewal dates or plans to re-procure the agreements.

Thank you for your email dated 19^th December 2011 requesting various
information with regard to the supply of agency staff to our Trust and
advice on the agency/locum spend for particular working categories during
particular time periods.
Unfortunately, not all of the information can be disclosed as it is not
recorded or held by our Trust in the format you have set out. The
information is recorded by our Trust per financial year and therefore can
not be broken down by the time periods you have specified. We can also
only provide the data by department as we do not record this information
by staff category or professional grades etc. Please also note that our
Trust is a cancer treatment centre and therefore some of the staff
categories you have listed are not employed at this Trust. We have
therefore only listed the departments applicable to our Trust.Â
Unfortunately the data recorded by department is not available before 2010
but we can provide the total spend for those financial years:-

The Trust is involved in an agreement with NHS Buying Solutions who have
replaced the NHS Purchasing & Supply Agency Agreement. NHS Buying
Solutions negotiate contracts on behalf of NHS organizations. There are a
number of agencies who have negotiated prices with NHS Buying Solutions
and are on the approved buying list. Once an agency is accepted under the
agreement, the NHS should only use the recommended agencies for supply of
staff.
We do not have a medical bank for locum doctors. Because of the
specialist nature of treatment we provide we use internal locums.
