Manchester City Council did not have the information requested.

Dear Manchester City Council,

I am interested in the amounts paid by all Schools in Manchester
LEA to third parties in relation to temporary agency staffing cover. My
hope is to receive an electronic breakdown of amounts paid
through the department's purchase ledger by school from January 2014 to present.
Please can you supply the following information in an excel spread sheet format:-

School Name – URN or DFE number – agency/supplier name – total amount paid

Yours faithfully,

Manchester City Council

Dear Amanda Walker

Re: Request for Information - Agency Spend in Schools - Reference Number:
CHS/9JQHE8

Thank you for your request for information, which was received by
Manchester City Council on 02/05/2014 and has been considered under the
provisions of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

You asked:

The amounts paid by all Schools in Manchester LEA to third parties in
relation to temporary agency staffing cover. My hope is to receive an
electronic breakdown of amounts paid through the department's
purchase ledger by school from January 2014 to present.
Please can you supply the following information in an excel spread
sheet format:-

School Name – URN or DFE number – agency/supplier name – total amount
paid

In response to your request, I have summarised the information as
follows.

Agency spend for maintained schools will be available as a total
figure from the Department for Education. This is unlikely to be
available until December 2014 and will not be in the format
requested. A total per school for the 2013/14 financial year will be
available - this will not be broken down by supplier. The Council
does not record school information in this level of detail as each
school is responsible for its own purchasing and therefore it would
take more that 18 hours to collate the information for all maintained
schools.

Please note if you are not satisfied with this response you may ask
for an internal review. If you wish to complain you should contact
the Information Governance Unit via
[Manchester City Council request email] or Town Hall, Room 401,
Manchester, M60 2LA.

If you are not content with the outcome of the internal review, you
have the right to apply directly to the Information Commissioner for
a decision.

The Information Commissioner can be contacted at:

Please remember to quote the reference number above in any future
communications.
