Agency Spend

tim yeats made this Freedom of Information request to Wilmington Academy

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

The request was successful.

Dear Wilmington Academy,

Under the FOIA can you please let me know how much the school spent on supply agencies last year.

Can you also break it down to the amount spent with which company.

Yours faithfully,

Tim Yeats

Frank Lawrence,

Dear Mr Yeats
Thank you for your email which I will be dealing with on behalf of
Wilmington Academy.
I acknowledge receipt of your request under the Freedom of Information Act
2000. I will endeavour to supply the data to you as soon as possible but
no later than the 30th Sep, being within 20 working days from receipt of
your request on the 5th Sep.
As an Academy we recruit teachers from overseas through agencies who
retain them on contract until the end of a probationary period when they
are offered contracts by the Academy. These teachers are not supply
teachers in the normal way. For the purposes of clarification can you
confirm whether or not you want cost figures relating to such staff?
Please quote reference WA001 in all correspondence.

Dear Frank Lawrence,

Thank you for your swift reply,

I would still like the costs

Yours sincerely,

Frank Lawrence,

Dear Mr Yeats
Re FoI Request WA001
Here is the information you have requested:
Impact Teachers Ltd - £236,512.23
Engage Education - £25,842.65
Teaching Personnel - £6,441.12
I would point out that the figure relating to Impact Teachers Ltd relates
not to supply teachers as such but to overseas teaching staff who are
recruited through Impact Teachers to fill vacancies and who we employ,
initially, on a daily rate through Impact.  This gives us the opportunity
to assess the performance standards of these teachers before committing to
a full contract.

Frank Lawrence,

Dear Mr Yeats
The following email has been passed to me as the responsible person.
As you are aware I have already dealt with a request you made in regard to
Wilmington Academy.  So as to avoid any confusion can I confirm that you
made a separate request to Longfield and on what date you made it?
As it stands I have no knowledge of your request to Longfield Academy in
regard to this matter and have asked the office staff to review the
relevant email inbox to ascertain if we received a request and, if we did,
why it was not processed in the correct manner.  Having checked the
whatdotheyknow site I can see that you have also made a request to the
Leigh Technology Academy, of which I am also unaware.
In the meantime I will collate the relevant figures and forward them to
you as speedily as possible.  Please use LA101 and LTA101 as the
references for these requests.
Regards
Frank Lawrence

good morning

I can confirm that I sent the requests off to Longfield & Leigh Academy on the 5th September

Yours sincerely,

Frank Lawrence,

Dear Mr Yeats
Re FoI request LAT101.
I have investigated why we failed to respond to your original request on
the 5th of Sep.  This was due to a user error which led to your request
being deleted instead of being passed on for action.  I have put in place
changes to the system whereby we receive requests through our info@ email
address which should prevent any future reoccurrence.  I can only
apologise for the delay this mistake has caused.
Listed below is the information you requested:
A+ Teachers £26,730
Classic Education Ltd £363
Engage Education Ltd £170,954.79
Impact Teachers £194,045.68
Protocol Education Ltd £17,795.13
Professional Personnel Ltd £30,800
Randstand Education Ltd £72,414.20
Three R's £1,352
