Thank you for your request for information that you sent to the College on
04^th June 2021. You asked:

“Can you provide a breakdown of money spent on
Lecturers/Assessors/Learning Support via recruitment agencies for the
20/21 Academic year. Split by temporary and permanent.

Can you also specify the money spent with each named agency and in which
department?"

College’s response

The College has dealt with your request in accordance with the Freedom of
Information Act (‘the Act’). 

I can confirm that the College holds the information you are seeking.
However, Section 22 of the Act exempts this information from disclosure.
This is because the information is intended for publication as part of the
Colleges annual accounts at a future date.

This exemption requires the public interest for and against disclosure to
be weighed in the balance.  There is a public interest in information
being released as soon as possible. However, I am satisfied that there is
a strong public interest in permitting public authorities to publish
information in a manner and form and at a time of their own choosing. It
is a part of the effective conduct of public affairs that the general
publication of information is a conveniently planned and managed activity
within the reasonable control of public authorities. The type of
information that you are seeking is as a matter of routine, subject to
scrutiny by the College’s auditors as part of the preparation of the
annual accounts, and this is a necessary part of the normal process of
scrutiny which is appropriate before financial information is published. I
am satisfied that in the instance the College is reasonably entitled to
withhold this information until after the accounts have been finalised
later this year. 

If you are not happy with this response you may request an internal review
by emailing [1][email address] or by writing to the Freedom
of Information Officer, Craven College, Aireville Campus, Skipton, BD23
1US. Any request for a review should be submitted within 40 working days
of the date of this email.

If you are not content with the outcome of the internal review, you may
apply directly to the Information Commissioner’s Office for a decision.
Generally, the Commissioner cannot make a decision unless you have
exhausted our own complaints procedure. The Information Commissioner’s
