Agency School spend on supply staff
Dear Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council,
I am interested in the amounts paid by each school inStockport County
Council to third parties in relation to temporary teacher staffing cover.
My hope is to receive an electronic breakdown of amounts paid through the
department's purchase ledger by school.
Notes:
1. I would like the information in electronic format. This should
avoid any printing cost issues.
2. In order to avoid your having to collate information from
peripheral systems, I am willing to accept information only from
your main system (I would like you to advise which system this is).
By main system I mean the system that handles the largest part of the
department's expenditure. If supplier payments are made
through separate systems, then I would like you to choose the main
system for each.
3. The information I require for each school is: School Name; Supplier
name and total amount paid.
4. I would like the information to cover the year 2014/2015.
Yours faithfully,
Deborah McBurney
Location Manager

Dear Ms McBurney,
I am writing in response to your request for information (ref FOI 41977).
The relevant Council Service(s) has searched for the requested information
and our response is as follows,
1. I would like the information in electronic format. This should avoid
any printing cost issues.
2. In order to avoid your having to collate information from peripheral
systems, I am willing to accept information only from your main system (I
would like you to advise which system this is).
By main system I mean the system that handles the largest part of the
department's expenditure. If supplier payments are made through separate
systems, then I would like you to choose the main system for each.
3. The information I require for each school is: School Name; Supplier
name and total amount paid.
4. I would like the information to cover the year 2014/2015.
Please see attached file.
The attached file shows the total expenditure incurred for each school
into two categories:
1. SMBC bureau supply (CFR E02) – The Local Authority has a pool of
supply teachers/support staff that schools are able to access for
providing supply cover. This information is taken from the Local
Authority SAP financial system.
2. Agency supply (CFR E26) – Schools may also decide to engage and
procure supply cover directly from 3^rd party external agencies.
However as such procurement is direct with 3^rd party agencies, the
information held by the Local Authority is only for the total
expenditure incurred by each school and not for the individual
agencies and/or teachers/support staff concerned. Should you require
any additional information on the latter, a separate request would
need to be directed to the individual school concerned.
The source data is taken from each school’s SIMS FMS financial system and
then total expenditure figures are uploaded to the Local Authority SAP
financial system.
If you are unhappy with the way we have handled your request for
information, you are entitled to ask for an internal review; however you
must do so within 40 working days of the date of this response. Any
internal review will be carried out by a senior member of staff who was
not involved with your original request. To ask for an internal review,
contact [1][email address] in the first instance.
If you are unhappy with the outcome of any internal review, you are
entitled to complain to the Information Commissioner. To do so, contact:
