Thank you for your Freedom of Information Act (FOI) request, as received
on 11 October 2018 and acknowledged on 15 October 2018. For information,
the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is one of the largest and
busiest NHS teaching Trusts in the country incorporating the Leicester

across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, and a further two to three
million people from the rest of the UK who come to us for treatment from
one of our specialist services.  During 2017/18 we treated 1,410,500

provides it and when does their contract expire?

Yes, the Trust uses a Direct Engagement Scheme. It is provided by 247 Time
and the contract expires on 22 July 2020.

3.       What percentage of bookings are made outside of the DE model
(non-DE)?

4.       Do you outsource any of the following services to external
companies:

•        Provision of Residential Medical Officers – No.

•        Gastroenterology/Endoscopy – some Endoscopy.

•        Dermatology – Yes.

The Trust does use agencies for permanent doctor recruitment on an
occasional basis, predominantly for candidates from overseas, although the
Trust is occasionally sent CVs from candidates within the UK.

Agencies are used for international permanent nursing recruitment. The
